Bricks are a nat­ural, long-last­ing and wide­spread build­ing ma­te­r­ial known from an­cient times through­out the world. Ini­tially bricks were moulded from clay and dried in the sun, in IV cen­tury BC man began to burn them in fur­naces at high tem­per­a­ture. Now the brick is still formed from clay - a nat­ural ma­te­r­ial and en­vi­ron­men­tally friendly and after fir­ing also very durable. De­spite the pas­sage of years, bricks still have wide­spread use, used dur­ing the re­vi­tal­iza­tion of old brick build­ings, in the re­con­struc­tion of brick mon­u­ments as well as for the con­struc­tion of new walls and brick­works.
